    Hello Everyone,

Has anybody here attended or currently attending and/or have graduated from UW-Whitewater's MBA or University of Colorado at Colorado Springs programs? Also, have you had any difficulty obtaining financial aid from those schools? And finally, how far in advance did you apply for the MBA program to the point of obtaining Financial Aid.

I would appreciate any feedback you may have to offer.

    Thanks,
    Sam

    Sam,

One of my coworkers is completing a graduate certificate in homeland security from UCCS. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it seems to be limited to reading, writing papers, and posting on the course page (blackboard, I think). I prefer programs with more academic support (streaming lectures, dvd lectures, teleconferences, narrated powerpoints, etc.). It is possible that their MBA program is different, though.

It depends on the professor. I'll be finishing my MBA through UCCS this Dec. and about half of my classes have had videos and narrated ppt's.

Personally, I enjoy the videos and feel that they can definitely make a course more enjoyable, but I don't like listening to a droning professor just reading the powerpoints to me.

On to alumni's questions; no problem getting the financial aid stuff squared away, but then again I've been doing part-time schooling for most of the last decade, I could probably fill out a FAFSA form in my sleep. UCCS finaid staff are usually pretty sharp and all the forms necessary are available on the school website.

I had applied, did the GRE, and got the finaid forms done in July/Aug. to start in the fall, but wound up waiting until Spring (my choice). They're very quick and helpful getting new students into the program. I've been very happy with UCCS.

    Thank You

Sorry for the late reply, and I truly appreciate both of your responses.

Pdbuzz, the information you provided was well rounded. It has also gave me an overview of what's like to go through the process of applying to UCCS's MBA program, and the time it takes to obtain the FinAid, since it varies between schools.

Best of luck and congratulations in advance on your graduation in Dec.

    Thanks,
    Sam
