If you haven't yet read about the enhancements we'll be making within the next couple of months, please take a moment and click the banner above and do so.

We'd really appreciate any input you have about what you'd like to see... article topics, interviews, in-depth reports on schools, more forums or forums divided differently... whatever thoughts you have, we'd appreciate hearing them. Messages can be posted to this thread, or you can email them separately to [email protected]

    Thanks!!

I noticed that you have registered domain collegedegree.info. Are you planning to move the forum there?

    Question:

With the advent of advertising on degreeinfo.com, will there be any limits on postings by employees of institutions offering distance learning programs?

Having lurked for years on AED before it finally bit the bullet...

I truly appreciate the work you've put into degreeinfo.com. These improvements can only foster DL success for years to come.

    Warm regards,
    Steven King

Probably not... we have a handful of domain names related to this sort of stuff and when we get fully rolling, we'll either point them to the same place or use them as search engine-marketing tools to drive more traffic to the site.

There will be no change in our current policy, which is that low-key mention of a program in the context of someone's request ("Hey, does anyone know of a good DL MBA?" / "Well, Heriot-Watt has a good one, I work for it, you might check it out") or even "Hi this is Bob Potatohead at Cowpath Technical Institute in Brownwater Falls, TX. We are just starting a new program in animal husbandry via DL and wanted to let everyone know"

That sort of thing has always been fine, but spamming a somewhat indiscriminate response onto any message remotely related to what a school offers is not OK.

Fortunately, as Tom Nixon said, we've not had much problem with it... I think there were a couple of cases where we gently asked the well-meaning proponents of a couple of programs to tone it down a little, and they did... We wouldn't anticipate anything other than that.
