I thought I had it settled in my mind that I wanted to attend American Military University (AMU) for an MA in History. Being this is a big decision, I'm looking at three other programs, just to make sure AMU is the right place for me.

Being that one of the end goals for me is to adjunct history courses, does it matter if my degree is in History or Military History? I'm looking at the programs at Norwich University and Austin Peay State University as two other possibilities but they both only offer military history degrees.

Ironically, I enjoy military history and that's actually what I want to study. I can get an MA in History from AMU but take numerous military history courses in the process. I really like the courses at Austin Peay as well but I want to be sure I'm not painting myself into a corner with that sort of degree.

    Thanks in advance!

I don't think having a degree specifically in military history would cause any problems getting hired as a professor in history.
