What states allow teachers to have a DETC degree and teach k-12? I don't know anything about K-12 educational requirements, but was curious which states allowed a DETC accredited degree for teaching? At $220.00 a semester credit it seems like a high price to pay for a degree that’s not very portable. Can someone fill me in on this?

All of this school's degrees are masters degrees. Would the initial K-12 licensing be dependent upon the undergrad degree?

Initial licensing can be done at either the bachelor's degree or the master's degree levels.

I don't know. Perhaps there should be a new sub-forum for Professional Licensures Exams. Then one could start individual threads like Teacher Licensure (or Counselor Licensure or Psychology Licensure or licensure for whatever else) and within each thread one could post links to the websites for each state's requirements (and perhaps some descriptions along with the links) starting with "From the Great State of Alabama" on down to "From the Great State of Wyoming" and then it would be visible for all to see which states for which professional licensure exams demand professional accreditation, which accept regional accreditation, which accept national accreditation, and which accept even unaccredited degrees.
