Anyone currently enrolled in either the Thomas Edison State College new MAPS liberal arts degree or Excelsior College's
version of same? Either one has a "great books" reading program of maybe a year or two, followed by a self-designed area of concentration. Excelsior's degree is less expensive, and more generous with transfer credits. I'd be grateful to hear any details about the inner workings of either program.
But I'm most interested simply to hear what it feels like to spend a year or whatever working through a great books curriculum at a distance. How is the workload? How are the profs? Is there interaction online with other students? Are there fixed deadlines?

    Thanks,
    Peter
