    Folks,

I would like to get some feedback about the MS Supply chain management degree from PSU (World campus).

Seems like this degree is offered by Smeal school of business and they say this program was ranked #1 by Supply chain review.

It looks pricey at $900/credit and a total of 30 credits to finish with a 1 week residency. Univ. of MD ( College Park) also has this program but that is part-time.

How difficult it is to get admission? They don't give a range for GMAT although GMAT is required.

I've enrolled for MS in technology management (project management) from UMUC and yet to register for a course. But I'm giving a serious thought to the above program from PSU.

I'm a MD resident and the cost difference is huge ( $412/credit for resident at UMUC versus $900/credit at PSU)....UMUC doesnt have supply chain program whereas UMD (CP) has it as part time and the cost is almost the same.

Any thoughts/feedback would be highly appreciated on MS (SCM) in PSU WD and how selective the program is?

    Regards,

Penn State would be the one for this degree at distance learning. However, if you can go with University of Maryland (Flagship)'s part-time program, then you should consider it. I would recommend to avoid UMUC as possible, I am not giving you the reason WHY. My opinion on UMUC might disagree with others, so I don't want to discuss about it. As far as Penn State's GMAT, once I contacted Penn State Admission Office about GMAT. They stated there is no specific score requirement, the admission depends all requirement not just only GMAT score. Therefore, they don't want to have it out there. If you have a GMAT score between 450 - 500 and above 3.5 GPA with good LOR's; then you should be okay. Their admission criteria based on GPA, GMAT, LOR's, and work experience.

Programs offered by the PSU World Campus are separate and distinct from those offered by Smeal. I'm not familiar with the Supply Chain Review rankings, but if they specifically refer to a program offered by Smeal, this is not the same program.

Actually, I am wrong about this particular program - it is offered by Smeal through the World Campus. This is different from the Smeal MBA and the World Campus iMBA, which are separate programs. Very confusing, but I do apologize for getting it wrong.

    Thanks!

    Tekman,

Thanks much for your feedback and info about Kelly Direct program. I'm evaluating it. Meanwhile, I've signed up for a orientation session at PSU World Campus next month. At this point, I'm leaning towards PSU.

    Fortunato,

Thanks for your post. It prompted me to re-check the program info and looks like the program is offered by Smeal through World campus.

    Thank,

I will preface this by saying I know nothing about this specific program at PSU.

I do want to say that I attended PSU on campus from 1992-1996 and now am taking two courses online via the World Campus. EVERY single person I've spoken with at the university has been super helpful and very friendly. If the program meets your needs, I don't think you'll be disappointed at all by the university itself.
