Hello Everybody! I'm considering a DL MBA to advance my career. Why DL? I travel 60% of the time among Canada, Latin America and Europe to visit and help our supply chain and have a small budget this time ($30k). The company has cancelled all tuition help since economy is slow and my 2nd kid will be born soon. I'm already a manager at the company I work for (Forbes 100) and have more than 10 years of experience plus a MSc on the automotive field (IIT). I'm looking at UMASS, Colorado State University and UCCS as good alternatives as they're AACSB accredited schools. Which of those provide good education and has a better reputation in the market ?? Thanks!!
Keep in mind there are two online MBA programs offered by the UMass system; Amherst and Lowell. Both are AACSB, with Amherst being the more prestigious. Amherst - http://www.isenberg.umass.edu/MBA/PartTime_MBA/ Lowell - http://continuinged.uml.edu/online/MBA/ If prestige is important, I think the UMass-Amherst program would be the better option over CSU and UCCS.
I think prestige, while a valuable asset, is dependent also on the region you'll be pursuing post-MBA employment as well as the specialty that you'll major in. While I can understand Bruce's choice of UMass, I have to say I prefer UCCS, for obvious reasons!
If you're looking for a regional assignement, the closest school is probably the 1st place a company closer from home will look for...However, that's where you can have some advantage over other candidates by taking an MBA a little bit far from your neighborhood.
Applied for UMASS Amherst (Isenberg School of Mgt) Hello All, I've applied last week (finaly !!!) for the Isenberg School of Management - UMASS Amherst. Let's see what happens....thanks for the inputs.
Yep Tekman, I did....not a great score (600) though. But as I studied abroad and have 10+ years experience may count somehow. Let's see.
JayPaul, You may also want to look at the University of Texas - Dallas Global MBA program. I am currently a full-time MBA student at UT Dallas, but I have taken one online course and I can confirm that the online version is just as rigorous as in-class courses. http://som.utdallas.edu/onlinePrograms/globalMbaOnline/ UT-Dallas is part of the University of Texas system, and is ranked among the top 50 MBA programs by US News and World Report. http://grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-business-schools/rankings/page+2 Your GMAT score is fine, so no need to worry regarding your score.
