    Hi,

I wonder if you guys can help me on this. I was enrolled in the BBA in marketing program at the City University of Seattle back in 1996. I attended school from 1996 to 1998 but did not earn many credits and dropped out.

Now and after 12 years, I ordered an official transcript to see what courses I took and I found out that there are a four courses that have a grade of "V" which stands for "Vanished"

How in the world would a grade "Vanish"? LOL

Do you think if I call up the school and ask them to replace these 4 courses with a "P" grade for Pass at 2.0 GPA instead of Vanished, they will do it?

Was it the grade that vanished or the student?

Almost certainly not. At most schools that use it, a "V" grade means that the student stopped attending the class without going through the formal withdrawal process. "V" in this case means the student vanished, not the grade, which is unfortunately usually equivalent to an "F". You would have to prove that the "V" was given unfairly in order to get your transcript changed.

I guess you are right guys.

I just checked the schools catalog and it said the following:

    (V) Vanished
The grade status, “Vanished” was given ungraded courses where
students discontinued attending or participating without
explanation and received neither a grade nor a refund.

I will give them a call tomorrow and see if there is a possibility of changing it to either P or I.

    Thanks guys:))

    How did that go?

I got a grade of "V" last semester, which at my school stands for "administrative withdrawal" -- it's the same as a "W" since it's not counted towards your GPA and not considered a letter grade. Hope this helps!
