I looking for an elective class that I can transfer into my MBA Program. I would like to take it this summer.

It needs to be from a RA school.

Of course the cheaper the better :D

I'm enrolled in Chadron State's program. They had offered an elective this summer, but for some reason I was told it was canceled.

I hope to complete the program in the 1st 8-week term in the fall. I just need one elective course and I thought the summer would be a great time to do it.

    Thanks,

    pcdl

I would perfer a class in management or MIS. I'm taking one elective in finance this semester, so I guess it needs to be something else. I'm open to most course other than any more accounting classes :D

Price range is not the main factor. I'm paying around $650 for 3 grad credits at Chadron. It would be nice to stay in that range, but anything $1000 and under for 3-credits would work.

    thanks

Have you condisered a course in quality management? CSUDH offers DL courses in this area. Every manager should know something about quality (service or industry).

The summer schedule won't be out for a while yet but you could try contacting the department.

CSUDH also has a good MBA program and you might find a suitable class there. Otherwise why not take a course at American Public University to take advantage of low tuition.

bump this thread in a couple of months as it seems many schools don't have the summer schedules out yet. But the following will be in your price range:

    Minot State University
    Dakota State University
    University of Illinois Springfield
    Peru State College
    Amberton University
    Fort Hays State University

    close to your price range:

    University of North Alabama
    Troy University
    Jacksonville State University

You might want to look at the transient student requirements and see which one is a fit.

Lousiana Tech is a good option. It does not look like their summer courses are available yet, but for the winter they were offering 3 MBA courses:

    CIS 510 INFORMATION RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
    MKTG 530 MARKETING MANAGEMENT GR/MBA
QA 525 QUANT APPR FOR DECISION MAKING GR/MBA

    Here is the link: http://www.latech.edu/globalcampus/courseswinter08.shtml

Also, the cost is only $397 for one 3-credit course. As far as I can tell, the fees add up to $78 for energy surcharge and $45 for other miscellaneous fees. Total cost looks to be around $520 for one course.

Here is the link to the tuition and fees page: http://www.ltadm.latech.edu/vpadmaff/feeswin09.htm

    Also, they are AACSB accredited.

I looked into taking a course here for the winter, but I was able to work out something at Jacksonville State.

    Hope this helps...

    Pcdl & ChrisH,

I'm looking at Chadron's MBA (and Jacksonville as well) as a possibility for 2010, so it would be great to hear more about your experiences as you go through the program. I'm currently taking some undergrad courses through Chadron, and I like the school. Thanks.

I don't want to hijack this thread so I posted a bit about my Chadron experience here. I like the school. Next week I start a senior-year project management course. Weekly: reading, quiz, 1-2 pgs of writing (you want to brush up on APA), discussion forum. Other than that, a "project" and two exams. 8 weeks later, you can sleep again :). I can only imagine the graduate-level load.

To get an initial sense of what the MBA is like I went to the bookstore's website to find out some of the books the MBA courses use. I don't have titles at hand, but they're solid.

    Hey i have your answer!

I emailed Chadron about the same question...they said to look at their sister school, Wayne State...they are offering: BUS 696W0 Seminar in Governance Theory and in July BUS 632W0 Information Syst Tech Management.
