Does anyone have an idea of what the word count should be on a 8-10 page APA format research paper? I have an email out to my Professor, but he is gone for a few days. Thanks, Abner
Abner, Mine are about the same as Ted's count, some less, some more. Just some info, if you use Courier font you can save yourself some writing as opposed to say Times New Roman. If your professor gives a page count instead of a word count or doesn't specify the font, experiment and you will find some that work to your advantage. Also if use the right type of quotes you can cut into the actual thinking part of your paper because of the way APA formats quotes. Best of luck with your papers.
APA recommends using a Serif font, of which Times New Roman is one. Courier is another. MLA style also makes the same recommendation. However, one would be wise to follow the established procedure when under the auspices of sticklers.
Thanks Ted, Kevin, Randell and Bruce. This helps me visualize the project better. The martial artist in me I guess, always trying to "visualize". Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Have a Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays to those who do not celebrate Christmas. Abner
Usually about 250 words/page. As mentioned, you cannot play around with fonts if it is APA formatted. Of course, if you are fond of sesquepedalian verbiage, the word count per page should drop significantly. j.
