Well for better or worse I have decided to finish my Associates in Business at UOP. However I still have a concern about whether to do my BA there as well or go to another university. Can anyone recommend another online program in which I can earn by BA?

Working hard is not an issue for me and im willing to work as many hours I need to a week, However I am looking for a program in which I can complete ( remember I already will have an Associates Degree) within a 2 year period.

I am not a member of the U.S military but I am American who at the moment is overseas for the next few years.

    Thanks everyone

I would get out of Axia of UoP just to get away from the stigma associated with UoP. Not to mention it is WAY overpriced.

One school I would look into is CSU... it has some pretty reasonable tuition.

Another school of interest is a degree by examination at Excelsior which can save you alot of money. They are pretty generious on the transfers.

I would then advise you to go on to an AACSB accredited MBA or equivalent business program. Your CV would be pretty solid then.

Excelsior or Thomas Edison State College for the BA in Business. Search the board. There is PLENTY of info about both.

In my opinion, what you are spending at UoP is a lot of money for an associate degree. If you earned credit through coursework and passed with a C, TESC accepts that credit in transfer. I earned both my AA and BA from TESC for $5000, and because I also took CLEP exams while I completed my classes, I finished my BA in 18 months. (my AA requirements were filled en route to earning my BA, only after I was ready to graduate did I go back and decide to grab it before I graduated- not sure how long just an AA would take)
NOW, I'm dropping serious time and money for a master's program, however, had I spent too much money on my undergrad degree- I wouldn't have had the OPTION of a master's degree.
That's my two cents. Here is an extra penny's worth. UoP is known by everyone as an online school. Probably my elderly neighbor knows about UoP. If you would ever come across an ignorant Human Resource worker, who is hell bent against anyone with a distance learning degree-you're starting behind the 8 ball. Some people still don't know the difference between diploma mills and accredited education. That same HR worker doesn't know that 98% of state colleges and universities offer online classes and or degrees, and I think you can avoid some prejudice if you earn your distance degree through a state college or university.
(you'll notice I didn't say a word about educational quality)

There is some valid criticism concerning UoP, but I would still recommend them over CSU, for no other reason than RA vs. DETC.

I would recommend Troy University for BS in Business Administration. You can CLEP out certain courses, the max is 60 lower division, and 90 credits. 120 to graduate.... They offer 5 terms per year, 10 week per term. You can take up to 5 courses per term. Therefore, you can complete your degree in a year.

I am a Troy University alumnus, and I completed my Bachelor degree in 24 months without a college credit except from the Military training.

If you intend to go for MBA with AACSB school, just stay away from NA accredited school.

The price is my biggest concern. These for-profit RAs think they can charge what traditional out-of-states do and still get the same respect. At least a DETC has a price the befits the value of the degree. It is pretty easy to get around NA accreditation for grad admissions to an AACSB MBA. They just become provisional students until they take a few classes and maintain the GPA. They say you must have an RA degree but it is not the reality.

I received acceptance with no conditional status from Rutgers University and Baruch College, CUNY (Both are AACSB accredited) using my NA BSc degree, so i believed it's not really an issue if once is to pursue their NA degree and apply for MBA AACSB school in future. some will accept though not all.

I have decided to go for CUNY and will be beginning my EMSc (Finance) next month.

I will recommend CCU www.calcoast.edu if you are interested to pursue a BS in Business Administration, since i have already completed my BSc with CCU and had successfully received acceptance from State university and CUNY, both AACSB.

    Kozen,

I didn't say that they don't accept NA degree; except the choices are limited. BTW, What happen with your Rutgers University? I am curious, why would you want to change your decission to CUNY?

Yeah, i know choices are limited for NA degree if one is to apply to AACSB schools. I changed to CUNY because after spoken to many of my friends. They felt that EMACCY Financial Accounting is too specialized and i may have difficulty in learning and applying for job as new entry level as i have no background and work experience at all. As i have worked in Banking industry for past 5 years, an Finance Masters will be more useful and add value to my background after graduated.

What limitations? Despite them saying you must have an RA degree, schools like FSU, ASU, UT and others allow people with NA degrees in as provisional students. As long as the GMAT is solid you are as good as in.

Oh, yeah? You don't have an NA degree, and you know there no limitation. How's that? If you have an NA degree, and trying to apply to Florida Institute of Technology, to see if they accept you.

I have had students who have done so. In fact, one of them went to CSU and was accepted to FSU as a provisional MBA student. A good GMAT score was the deciding factor. FIT is hardly comperable to Florida State.

I appreacite everyones great responce, however let me clarify something. The price of UOP isnt bothering me, however I am looking for something with a bit better repuation but at the same time gives me the great flexibility I have with UOP.

    Thanks

If the price of UOP is not an issue you can pick any school you want. :)

Your problem is you aren't going to find too many quality schools offering an online BSBA. They are mostly in the graduate school game. The best I can find is Rutgers which is a Tier 1 national university if you go to New Brunswick.

If you're looking for name recognition. Then you should consider University of Florida and Penn State.
