I believe I finally have a game plan, earn my BS in Psych (then perhaps find some sort of work as a mental health tech or in some similar environment) then apply for an affordable Physician Assistant program I found (yes, I know they are competitive). The PA program will require these additional credits so I'm trying to figure out approx cost. If I don't get accepted, then I'll go the mental health route.

Any idea on schools for the following non test options, but online or distance would still be best.

    Thank you.

    CHEM 1315 General Chemistry I
    CHEM 1415 General Chemistry II
    PHYS
    PHYS 1114 or
    2414 Physics Non-Science Major -OR-
    Physics Life Science
    MBIO 2815 Intro Microbiology
    MBIO 4823 Pathogenic Microbiology -OR-
    UCO-BIO 3515 Path Mic/Immun-OR-
    UCO-BIO 4413 Virology
    ZOO 2124 Human Physiology
    ZOO 2255 Human Anatomy *

PS I have sent my application and transcripts to E and am waiting for their evaluation :)

Your post is not clear about whether or not CLEP/DSST is an option. Is it?

    http://www.sjc.cc.nm.us/pages/163.asp
    $40 per credit hour.

    http://www.clovis.edu/ecampus/Courses/Fall.asp
    Three credit course is $172.

    COMING SOON:
    http://www.straighterline.com/courses/
$99 per course if completed in one month.

I tried to make the following thread as clear and easy to use as possible. The fees are listed, along with links to online courses.

Sorry, guys I meant I need to take actual courses and NOT test out :)

The college is in Oklahoma (I'm not - yet at least) that's why I was looking at equivalents for them.

Actually the more I look at this the more I think I'll have to go to a community college (except for the higher level course required). I haven't been successful in locating all of the courses online yet.

I appreciate your links, so far I see several Chem I but not II, I've emailed the school to see if there is an age restriction on credits I may have Phys covered.

If anyone is interested LSU did have a Human Physiology class (most programs I've seen so far offer Anatomy and Physiology together) but the LSU program states that it's on hold for now.

I'm in a wierd spot as I really would like to get into the PA program which requires the science prereqs, but if I don't get in they will be a bit of a waste as mental health programs don't require them. In the grand scheme of things though it's only 6 classes. That puts it's in persepective for me.

So thank you guys, unless there is a science heavy distance education program not listed I think I've worked this out :)

Get the hard science classes and then complete this one:

    Johns Hopkins DL MS Bioinformatics

Hard to beat the resume value of the name.

AMU/APU has some course that may be of interest to you:

Take each course wherever you can find it for the cheapest. You don't have to find all of them online. Find some of them and get to work.

I do not know the cost but you may wish to look at the options from the University of New England(http://www.une.edu/com/online/) they have quite and array of online science classes.

Also, Alfred State College offers a Human Anatomy & Physiology I & II online as part of their Health Information Technology degree.

Workingmom - I suggest that you take cklapka's advice and investigate the online science courses offered via University of New England. It looks like a DL version of the Post-bac pre-med/pre-pa/pre-vet programs that a number of schools offer on campus. This is the first one that I've seen offered online. I would definitely check with the PA school your looking to apply with and see if they will accept these courses as meeting the science pre-reqs. They may balk since the labs are "virtual". However, it can't hurt to ask. Univ. of New Engl. is a RA Osteopathic school, so that might help give the program some credibility.

Also, since UNE is marketing this program as a post-bacc pre-med/pre-pa program, I would ask them which PA and Med schools have accepted this program as meeting the science pre reqs. For example, the online syllabus for Biochemistry states "This online course is designed for Pre-Physician Assistant, Pre-Medical and other students who are entering a medical profession."
    Good Luck!

That is a good find thank you. That's a neat program but pricey for my blood at $1250 a pop. I found some online classes in OK that were equivalents for some of the classes they used something called LateNightLabs for the lab portions, those Chem classes came in at $644.75 (cheapest I've found for them so far for online)

There is an on-sight community college in Tulsa that offers all of the classes with the one upper division exception for less than $400 (can't recall right now but like $375).

It's a bit ironic they say they want Americans to take more science classes, yet, they sure don't make them budget friendly
