My son took an Interpersonal Communications course with CCC. They seemed pretty straight forward to me and the support was very good when a call to the school was necessary. Pug
My daughter has taken 3 courses with CCC - my son 1. The staff is efficient, the faculty accessable. I highly recommend CCC. Shawn
Depends on the course. My daughter's exams in Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, and Trig were proctored - my son's Biology exams were not. The syllabi will usually state what the policy is for each class. You can find most syllabi at: www.clovis.edu/ecampus If you want to plan for Spring, you'll want to look at the Fall syllabi as most of the Spring syllabi aren't posted yet. Shawn
Unabashed bragging about children My kids received their grades today; they both took classes at Clovis this semester. 15 yr old daughter - A in Plane Trigonometry 17 yr old son - B in General Biology with Lab Up next... Anticipated Spring Semester courses/CLEPs 15 yr old: General Biology with Lab at Clovis; Calculus I with Thinkwell with CLEP 17 yr. old: Criminal Justice at Clovis Credit count: 17 yr old: 3 college credits 15 yr old: 19 college credits - 10 at Clovis, 9 through CLEP. Mom and Dad are proud of both of them Shawn
Damn!!!! You should be very proud. Of course, they are lucky to have parents like yourself. Good for you man. I wish more parents raised their kids like you. Abner
Thanks so much - but since I found out about CLEP/DSST/Clovis through this board, I would be remiss if I didn't share success stories. As homeschooling parents, our goal for our children has been to raise them to be self-directed learners. If you learn for the love of learning and it's not a chore, then learning is so much easier. Our house is in a state of perpetual untidiness - (7 kids in a 3 bedroom house), but there are books scattered everywhere in our house, and someone always has a nose in a book. Although we have a TV, we live in rural WI and don't subscribe to cable or satellite - so other than a good movie on DVD or VHS, we're not competing with the boob tube. Shawn
