Just wanted to drop a reminder for military personnel who are seeking an AACSB-accredited MBA. Effective Spring 2009 semester, Oklahoma State University's William S. Spears School of Business is offering their DL MBA for $250 per credit hour (that's in-state AND out-of-state, undergrad-grad-cert) exclusively for AD-military. Which also happens to be cheaper than in-state undergraduate tuition of $260/ch. Must provide a copy of active duty papers along with a copy of military I.D. at time of enrollment to receive these rates. For more information visit these pages, and hurry to get in if you're still on the fence! - OSU Home - Spears School of Business Home - MBA Overview - Distance Learning Tuition While it's a really good deal for military, it's also not bad for in-state at $295/ch, out-of-state is sadly $650/ch. Enjoy!
ChrisH, have you considered one of the two OSU Spears graduate certificates? No GMAT/GRE required. Successful completion may help with admission to the MBA program. Just a thought.
Or disingenuous, saying they have a great military tuition, then raising the GMAT standard too high for service members to get in... like me Good times!
Chris, I know you're/were disappointed of OSU's rejection. However, I just want to share some information I got from the Admission office specialist. The GMAT is really important in admission, it also helps somebody with lower GPA as well. I was told that if you have 750 in GMAT, you can go to any school.
Did a Google search and Business Week shows that the average GMAT score for someone admitted to OSU's MBA program is 516. Very attainable. I'm an A.D. Air Force Capt, and will probably apply for a grad school scholarship program in the spring (AFIT)...I've had my eye on the OSU MBA program for a couple of months in case that doesn't work out. I haven't found anywhere that beats the cost combined with name recognition.
Hey! Yeah the GMAT is important for many reasons to the school...the failure to get in was entirely my fault for not preparing...but I have already begun course work with Chadron...
Greetings! Yes, that score is attainable...I, however, did not study for the GMAT...thought I could wing it, and got humbled! My GMAT score was just good enough combined with my under GPA to get into Chadron State...I am excited. I am an active duty Air Force Tech Sgt...by the way! c
Yeah, neither the GMAT or GRE are ones you can go in there and "wing" and do well on...especially if you haven't been in school for awhile. I took the GRE about 4 years ago and put about 2-3 weeks worth of study time in...did OK (1100) but didn't realize how much I had forgotten since undergrad math & statistics. It humbled me a bit. If I take the GMAT in the spring my goal is the 580-600 range but this time I'm going to put more effort into preparing than I did with the GRE.
