    Hey everybody,

I've gone very far so far on my BS in MIS @ Park University (park.edu) and now I just need 1 more (upper level) credit! The thing is, I can't take any DSST/CLEP/Excelsior tests because I've maxed them out & I don't really want to take a whole 8/16 weeks to finish up my bachelors. Do you know of where I can take a 1 credit class and have it transferred, quickly?

I've done some research and if the class is either at an accredited institution internationally or in US it should count. It just has to be called by one of these names, roughly, and I should get my final credit:
    Criminal Investigation
    Criminalistics
    Technology in a Global Society
    Organizational Develop & Change
    Information Security
    Logistics Management
    Small Business Management
    International Marketing
    Science, Technology, and Society
    Business Ethics
    Public Administration
    Administrative Law
    Social Psychology

    Any ideas?
    Thank you!
    Peter

Just 1 credit? I don't really know any courses that are only 1 credit but while you're waiting for others to answer maybe you could browse through this site. It's the Open University in Britain.

I know of a few lower level 1 credit courses available via DL, but for upper level your options are going to be very limited.

I'm not sure but maybe a FEMA class will work, and use FFC if necessary...

And what would be so terrible about choosing from amongst an array of 3-credit classes and actually graduating with 2 credits in excess of the minimum necessary?

I thought about making the same comment - I had 20 to 30 credits above the 120 requirement when I completed my BS from Excelsior. All are listed on my transcript.

I had 225.33 credits hours on my Excelsior transcript when I graduate in 2008 with a Bachelor of Criminal Justice. Had a chance to get a lot of free FEMA courses and free military correspondence courses put on the transcript for credit that didn't quite fit into my degree program. They are on the transcript now if I should need them in the future.

Was that 225.33 quater hours (of 180 needed) or 225.33 semester hours (of 120 needed)?

I have 225.33 semester hours on my Excelsior transcript. I had the chance to take plenty of free courses from the military and that added up to many hours that could be put on the transcript because they were favorably rated by ACE for credit. I have more now that I have not gotten on any transcript, yet.

I would have taken the military correspondence courses (Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard) even if they were not worth credit for other career reasons. However, since I could get college credit it was worth the time to go ahead and get them on a transcript while I could and it was covered by the same fee I was paying to get 120 credits approved for my most recent degree.

Gosh, I am so humbled! For my undergraduate degree, between my two undergrad alma maters, Mesa State College and Western State College, I accumulated a measly 162 semester hours (of 124 required) and only 153 counted towards graduation.
