    I know its not regionally accredited, it is DETC accredited...I would try and find a school that has the regional accreditation...this will ensure your credits will transfer to graduate college...

    Yup, It is National Accredited School; well,,,they just gained the accreditation recently. We discussed this before, it located in Mobile, Alabama...not Atlanta, Georgia. However, you can purchased airfare ticket through Delta Airlines for your graduation travel. They have a flight between Atlanta to Mobile. You should stick with regional, unless.....oh, well.

    They're "real" in that they exist, at least in cyberspace.

    The University of Atlanta was formerly known as Barrington University, prior to accreditation, name change and I believe a change in ownership as well. Some say Barrington was a diploma mill. I know it was unaccredited, but I do not know that it was actually a mill (selling degrees for money for no actual school work).

    They seem to have made a step on the right direction with DETC accreditation.

    It certainly has a nice website, and the name is impressive too!! DETC, ahhh like the others said I would go for the regional accreditation.

    I hate how many of the schools put "we are FULLY ACCREDITED". That sounds so cheap! ;)

    Glendale University

    Note that there is a perfectly respectable "Glendale University" Law School, a Cal State Bar accredited school.

    The Jimmy Smits character on "LA Law" attended Glendale. No doubt this was a stick at all the other lawyers that attended more prestigious schools.

    It's certainly not the first time a legitimate school has been "imitated" by a less-than-wonderful school. Look no further than the University of Berkley, complete with "Casey", the creepy animated admissions counselor;

    I guess, soon I'll be the President of University of Harvard. Since, there are Miami University and University of Miami. Therefore, Harvard University cannot sue me for using the name of University of Harvard.:D

    Make sure you run your business.....I mean university, out of a post office box in the Town of Harvard, Massachusetts (nowhere near Cambridge), to avoid legal problems. :D

    Actually, I have seen many RA schools use the "fully accredited" line, including the University of Oklahoma. In fact, some of their ads also say something along the lines of "get a REAL degree", obviously a stab at UoP, DeVry and ITT, which have all set up shop in OU's backyard.

    I get a good chuckle out of that ad by OU every time I hear it on the radio.

    the sad thing about the "University of Atlanta" is that a few years ago Atlanta University existed as a HBCU and then merged to form Clark Atlanta.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clark_Atlanta_University

    "Atlanta University, founded in 1865 by the American Missionary Association, with later assistance from the Freedman's Bureau, was, before consolidation, the nation's oldest graduate institution serving a predominantly African American student body."

    A number of years ago (ok, decades) I had a professor who received his doctorate from Atlanta University. I wonder if the university of atlanta folks did some history research to play on the name.
