Hi everyone, I promise this is the last of a flurry of questions on the board for today. What can you tell me about the reputation of Regent University's doctoral program in Organizational Leadership?

The curriculum appears sound and the faculty do publish. I did notice that a majority of the faculty were awarded their Ph.D. from Regent. Should I be concerned about this? How is Regent viewed in the academic world outside of the sphere of Christian based universities/colleges?

I did a search for faculty with doctorates from Regent and found a good handful were teaching in higher education. The large majority were teaching at Christian based schools. While I am not religiously opposed to this path, it would seem to limit employment opportunities. Perhaps the people who chose Regent are naturally drawn to these universities?

This brings me back full circle. Anyone familiar with faculty at non-denominational or secular colleges with a Regent Ph.D.? Are these degrees viewed by most schools as "right wing" religious study or legitimate research degrees.

    Thanks

I cannot believe no one has any info on this program. Come on Regent alumni, let me hear your voice on this one!

I don't think we have (m)any Regent alumni who actively post on this site.

I know three people who have done degrees through Regent or are currently working on them. One is my current supervisor who did his master's degree in organizational leadership (BTW-very nice looking diploma). One is a former Air Force chaplain who did his MDiv in-residence through Regent while in the period between his enlisted days and his chaplain days. The third is a family friend who teaches at a AG-affiliated school and is working on his PhD in Communication.

Regarding Regent's legitimacy as a scholarly institution, this article may help you with making a determination.
