...that's what I'm looking for. I know UMass Boston has an MA program, are there others? I would like to take a few classes without having to commit to a degree program.
I believe UofMass is the only one in the United States for distance learning. You can call Regent University, they might have some courses. If you're gearing for a degree, you check out with UK and Australian's insitutions.
Tekman is right. Here's a program from Edith Cowan University. http://www.reachyourpotential.com.au/futurestudents/postgraduate/courses/M83 and here is a program from the University of Southern Queensland. http://www.usq.edu.au/handbook/2008/edu/MAPL.html
Here are some options from the UK: University of Leicester: MA in TESOL and Applied linguistics University of Nottingham - MA in Applied Linguistics & English Language Teaching - MA Applied Linguistics University of Birmingham MA Applied Linguistics University of Aston - MSc in Applied Linguistics - MSc in Forensic Linguistics I believe that all of the schools referenced above will allow you to take a module (course in British parlance) without committing to a degree program. Most schools in the U.K. allow one to pick up a Post Graduate (PG) diploma and certificate on the way to obtaining a Masters. These milestones are qualifications in their own right. For more results, copy/paste the following search string into Google: "applied linguistics" "distance learning" site:.ac.uk For results in the U.S., replace "site:.ac.uk" with "site:.edu". For results in Oz, use "site:edu.au" This is also an area of interest for me. Good Luck! Tom
