Arizona State's online Master in Accounting program has just been discontinued. They were my first choice for an online Macc program. I've decided to do a program online (and keep my job given the economic environment).

    My Info:
    Age: 24
Undergraduate degree in finance (6 hours of accounting)
    MBA at Liberty University (online)

    Program needs:
    Cost: Under $30K
Minimal prerequisites (I don't have a lot of accounting undergrad work that is why I'm looking to obtain this degree)
    Solid B&M presence (Auburn, UCONN)
Minimal Residency (I'm fine with one week)
    GMAT required is fine.

The programs I've looked into are Auburn, UConn, and Sacramento State. Right now, I guess I'm leaning toward Sacramento State because the prerequisites required for entry are significantly less. Sacramento State is obviously less known than Auburn or UCONN, but I don't really want to spend more than three years getting another degree (which is a possibility given the number of prerequisites required at Auburn or UConn.)

    Thanks in advance,

    Matt

Just off the top of my head, I do believe that the State University of New York Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome www.sunyit.edu offers an MS in Accountancy that is designed to qualify one to sit for the CPA exam. Also, Golden Gate University www.ggu.edu offers an online Master of Accountancy.

How about Liberty University? It does have a few prerequisites, but you can take those CHEAP at Penn Fost for $225 per course. As a bonus, Liberty's program is only 30 hours and costs $11,850.

Texas is great if you're a resident, otherwise it's pretty pricey.

University of Tulsa http://www.collins.utulsa.edu/mtax/mtaxreq.asp has an online Masters in Taxation with minimal prerequisites (one accounting course, one taxation course) plus GMAT and undergrad degree. It -like UConn, Auburn, Texas and Sacramento State - is AACSB accredited and is $778 per credit hour- pretty pricey too.

I am looking at the Sacramento State program, which seems the easiest and most user-friendly in terms of entry requirements and with AACSB it is the cheapest.

If you are ever planning on teaching, I'd go AACSB no question.

Wow! 24 and already have a Master degree? I am 25, and I feel I am behind. Why's not going for Ph.D? Anyway, what is your state residency...I assume you're a Californian?

I'd look at this given you already have an MBA: http://www.ncu.edu/academics/cags/business_cags_advanced_accounting.aspx
