...and a cosigner is not an option for me. I don't know what to do now, since I have been researching like crazy and am most interested in this program for the M.A. in Psych. Aghhhhhh!:(

Sorry to hear that. Perhaps you should just look around and find another program that meets your needs and participates in Title IV funding.

    Not Approved

    Fairyrealm,

I understand your frustration. :( I had the same experience with a couple of NCU's financing options. Finding a private school loan in today's economy is very challenging.

I was contemplating Argosy for a minute. I was accepted to their DBA program, approved for Financial Aid, and awarded a whopping $1000 scholarship. However, I could not justify the cost comparisons.

    Argosy - $60,000+
NCU - $20,000 (w/ Military or Law Enforcement discount)

I opted to participate in NCU's monthly payment plan. I pay an extra $50 per course with this option. I'll pay an extra $1000 if I decide to stay on the plan throughout the program. $1k loss w/ no loans to pay off sounds a lot better than $60k+ in debt. In the end, they are both RA DL degrees.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

The option with NCU about the payment plan indeed is more economical than the Argosy one. You did not mention in the formula of $60k+plus interest= in debt. And Plus NCU has Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs – ACBSP!

Absolutely correct, Vini....I failed to mention the interest and the esteemed ACBSP accreditation.

The only downfall is the f2f I'll be missing out on from the hybrid Argosy program. Oh well, I'll consider joining the toastmasters club or something to get my fix. :)

LOL and to be honest, I won't miss anything from Argosy. Maybe I will miss the expensive tuition!

    Pass

Pass on them and save your $$$$, get an employer to pay the cost:)

With the economy the way is going I doubt you may find employers willing to put that extra chuck.

    NCU funding frustration

I stopped the application process with NCU when I discovered their absence of Title IV funding - so I feel your pain.

Toastermasters International is a wonderful experience. I haven't been involved in years but plan to take it up again when I relocate to NC next year.
