anyone know of any distance learning schools that are looking for faculty. I have a PhD in Human Services a Masters in Counseling and an MBA, my Bachelors are in Accounting and Sociology/Religion and an Associate in Bible Studies. Thanks, ------------------ Howard Rodgers
It couldn't hurt to send some resumes and cover letters to various DL schools, letting them know you're interested in an adjunct position. I did the same thing to some residential colleges in my area, and was surprised at how many positive responses I got. Bruce
Virtually all faculty help wanted ads run in the Chronicle of Higher Education -- more than 50 pages of them every week. I think they are available to non-subscribers at www.chronicle.com I see ads for at least two different magazines for adjunct faculty, but I have not seen the publications. If anyone has . . . I wonder if they have job listings. Until last week, I would also have recommended the ads in LinguaFranca, but my favorite academic publication has just gone belly up.
Dear Howard, I gather by your list of credentials that you would be comfortable and appropriately qualified to affiliate with a Christian College. Taylor University in Indiana is preparing to expand their distance learning program significantly. They recently have begun the hunt for additional DL faculty. I would strongly encourage you to contact them. Perhaps you might find the appropriate contact information at their website: www.taylor.edu
Thanks, CL. Yes, I would be comfortable. In addition to the RA degrees I have a Certificate from Memphis Theological Seminary that is "equavilent" to an MDiv. I am ordained in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Again, many thanks. ------------------ Howard Rodgers
Another good source for such positions is http://www.higheredjobs.com. They often will have as many or more positions listed as the Chronicle. Tom Nixon
you might also try the <A HREF="http://www.cccu.org" TARGET=_blank>Council of Christian Colleges and Universities www.cccu.org[/url] job bank. Jeff
This is a good suggestion. On occasion, various CCCU institutions, most notably Indiana Wesleyan University, use this site to advertise faculty positions for their distance degree programs.
