A few months ago, I posted that I was accepted into UF MS Program but delayed my enrollment. Well, I have decided to actually enroll in the MS program at UF and pursue the MS in Pharmacy – Patient Safety and Risk Management. I plan to take The Structure, Process and Outcomes of Regulation in January. I found out that I have 7 years to complete the program. Even if the clock started when I took my first class (5/2006), I will have 4 years to complete 6 classes after the January class is out of the way. Anyone could do 1.5 classes a year…can’t they?

Wish me luck and I realize this is more of an “ego degree” so I can say I have a masters from UF. Besides that, I will have 18 credits in healthcare after my January class and will be qualified to teach healthcare admin, which is a field I have over 15 years experience.

Do distance learning programs exist in Pharmacy? I would imagine its a "hands on" course of study.

It is in risk management but from the school of pharmacy - not a pharmacy degree. There is a school that offers an online PharmD.
I think it is Craig University or something like that...don' remember.

Tuition assistance from work covers my PhD and I will pay for the MS out of pocket with the money I make adjuncting.

Best of luck. UF College of Pharmacy is actually planning on starting a research orientated online Pharmacoeconomics MS (different from the Applied Pharmacoeconomics MS they have now) in Fall 2009. I plan on starting that one after I finish up the PhD. The courses are still being planned, but we may end up in a few courses together.
