    Hello all,

I am looking to get into a grad program, and I heard about the ILPS degree from Antioch University McGregor. It sounds too good to be true. Does anyone have any firsthand experience with this? I came across some articles over a controversy surrounding the closure of Antioch College. If this is not a credible program, I will have to look elsewhere. Please be as honest and insightful as you can. Thanks.

I'd be interested in knowing the details that make it so exceptional.

This school basically offers a "design your own masters degree" program, which actually looks pretty cool. McGregor is regionally accredited, so you have no worries about accreditation. It looks a bit pricey at about $3,500 per quarter for the individualized studies program if you attend "full time", but if you have student aid of some kind it's an interesting program to consider.

Ohio University offers something similar at the undergraduate level with their "Bachelor of Specialized Studies" program. They also have a bachelor's completion program for the incarcerated (not that this applies here, but I thought it was interesting).

OK. It sounds like the program at Lesley University. Good deal if you've got the bucks.

Oops, I meant to say ""3,500 per quarter part time". The program is $4,500 if you attend full time, and I think McGregor uses the quarter-hour system.

Antioch closed their full-time in-residence undergrad programs due to low enrollment.

You are absolutely correct about this. I used to live in Dayton, OH near the small village known as Yellow Springs. That's where the original Antioch College is located and Antioch University -- McGregor is located couple miles away from Antioch College. The college closed officially on June 2008.

Plans are in place to reopen it. If it ever does, I wouldn't mind obtaining agraduate level degree from there, or even a PhD. The college's history is truly astonishing.

    Regards,
    Sebastian
