    Catchy title aye!

    FROM MY OTHER ELLIS THREAD:
"As some of you know, I am an Email writing nut when it comes to colleges and most of the time I can get somethings done. For example when my writing campaign got TESC to change the price of the TECEP Exams for military and so on.. Well I am at it again but with Ellis College or now known as just NYIT-Ellis branch:) "

So I am a current student with the former Ellis of NYIT, now known as NYIT-Ellis Branch. I'll graduate in about a year or so I owe them 13 credits. Anyway here is the story...

I noticed that Ellis was lacking in several areas with regards to the administration of information to students and Cardean Learning Group which runs that end of things was at fault.

Now, I was not too concerned with that since Ellis College was going away all together BUT I had needs as an active duty soldier that had to be met if I was to even pay for my classes. So I started a writing/phone call campaign to the CEO/PRESIDENT/DIRECTOR OF STUDENT AFFAIRS and so on..

I got an email from the assist director of military affairs (I never knew they had a military affairs department!!) and he expressed an eagerness to help. Needless to say all has been fixed, but that was the small issue.

In the days after I found out Ellis was going bye bye, I began to think about my life as a current student and life AFTER graduation. I thought of things like "will I be an Alumni of a long gone college?", Why can I get into the NYIT students online student services, or get an NYIT.EDU email account and address. Most services require an NYIT email address to sign up.

So I started a campaign directed toward the big guys at NYIT itself, And so it began. I wrote tons of emails and made many phone calls. I figured that now is the time to strike because NYIT is attempting to convince the regional accreditors that they are taking care of Ellis Students before the death or Ellis College branch. I found this out on the Middle States website.

Well, unexpectedly I have gotten a very positive response by many heads of NYIT various departemnst including the Doctor in charge or the Ellis transition (Dr. Arnone).

    What has happend so far:

Former Ellis students will be considered Alumni of NYIT(proper) and be afforded ALL the services and memberships that non-DL students are afforded. NYIT have actually updated the Alumni Association page to include Ellis College as an option when applying for association membership. Kewl huh!

    http://www.nyit.edu/alumni/update_profile/

The same person is taking care of the NYIT.EDU email accounts for Ellis branch students. This will take time since all the Ellis students info was migrated to Ellis University. She said it WILL happen and she offered ME an early NYIT email account. Dr, Arnone said she will have the IT department input it manually, oh ya I accepted.

All remaining Ellis students will be considered NYIT students in 90% of what happens from here on out.

I got them impression from talking to several people at NYIT that NYIT is not too happy with this whole Ellis U thing or the Cardean Learning Group as a whole. Too many issues, too many complaints.

As it was, with the exception of the AskNYIT web page Ellis College was NEVER mentioned anywhere on the NYIT site. They boasted that and Ellis student graduates from NYIT but in turn NYIT ignored their student body, huh (ahh that's not gonna happen). So now that is changing!

    To Be continued!!

I have had nothing but stellar service form Ellis... they have handled every single one of my problems with haste and have also been very polite about it. I feel fortunate to have been accepted right before the change to EU, but I would not let that stop others from applying to EU. The professors, online system, etc will all be the same experience. The only difference now is that diplomas will not say "NYIT" on them.

Great, too bad many other students AND grads have not had that experience from Ellis' Administration. I assume you not a military student, and your paying you own tuition.

Feel free to check out my blog for the students responses and in the military Students blog area.

The Student Blogs scream with issues that have not been addressed from what it will state on the degree to MBA students having Executive on their degree by error. There is more.

Again, I'm glad your doing well there and when you graduate you can NOW be an Alumni of NYIT. Your welcome-

As far as Ellis University they will NO LONGER be part of NYIT. So you are incorrect in that the wording on the degree will be the only difference, the entire organization will be different from NYIT and separate.

And no one was dissuading potential students considering EU to not go there, read the posts.
