Here’s a new Doctor of Ministry program unique enough to warrant mention. I’ll admit up front that I’m not a particular fan of the Doctor of Ministry concept as opposed to the Ph.D. or Th.D. That’s not to say that they aren’t valuable learning experiences, or to take a shot at those holding the D.Min., just that I won’t be mentioning many here. This is a D.Min. in Bible Translation from Gordon-Conwell, presumably aimed at missionary translators who are in the field. The full details aren’t online yet, but it looks interesting. It’s being overseen by Roy Ciampa, who has a Ph.D. in New Testament from U. of Aberdeen. http://www.gcts.edu/dmin/tracks.php
Gordon-Conwell is both RA (New England Association) and accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS); http://www.ats.edu/MemberSchools/Pages/SchoolDetail.aspx?ID=94
Not to mention if you're adventurous, you can sneak onto the Myopia Hunt Club for some night golfing. http://www.golfclubatlas.com/myopiahunt1.html
Hah! I hadn't thought of that. My kids are fascinated by the Sherman tank at the park next door. It's quite a study in contrasts with the adjacent Hunt Club. Not sure I want to risk getting flogged for sneaking onto such hallowed ground - I'll stick to MiniGolf!
