I am trying to find out what online or distance MBA programs go the extra mile to provide really high quality interactive experiences such as chats with professors, video or videoconferencing, audio and related interactive media- particularly if any schools have stepped into interactive software as a teaching tool. What I mean by software is that all our security training in our company is done as a computer "game" where topics are reinforced through this format. It's helped comprehension a lot for our teams, but I'm not sure if these concepts have moved out of corporate training and into graduate school. Have they?

These have been around for a while now. EBS created their own Economics simulation game called "Running the British Economy" (or as I liked to call it "Ruining the British Economy".) You basically took the role of the Treasury and the game would give you data such as GDP, unemployment, etc and some random things such as a natural disaster, and you had to decide on money supply, interest rate, and so forth. They also have a Strategic Planning game (I never played it) and a Negotiation game I believe.

A few textbook publishers like McGraw-Hill also have Finance and business simulation games that instructors can use for their classes. Some departments at UF made a few games with Macromedia Flash, and they purchased their own island on Second Life that is used for a few classes.

I have no idea though about which school would use the "most" games. This choice to use them is usually up to the instructor, not a requirement of the program.

Well basically my situation is that I took some online classes 4-5 years ago that were almost nothing more than a reading list where the professor asked a question each week and if you didn't respond that night then he'd complain you weren't participating in class. It was a serious problem and led me to withdraw from that program- the guy even tried to "Teach" while on vacation!

So I'm looking for programs that go the extra mile. I was told in the last few days that Duke, Indiana, Florida and Colorado State University all have extra-efforts online. Last year I was told that Syracuse's IMBA was really interactive.

The game aspect isn't any more important to me than video classes. I am just looking for a REAL program and not the grad classes I took online before.

Duke is out due to foreign travel requirements that I can't meet.

I'm reviewing the other 3 and am looking at all the brick and mortar colleges that offer online programs.

Here is a list of universities that have used McGraw-Hill's Business Strategy Game. Keller Graduate School of Management is on this list.

I know the MS in Pharmacy from University of Florida is very interactive. Weekly live videos to watch, instructors that call you, etc. Outstanding experience in the certificate program and was really close to starting on the MS program but due to cost (12K out of pocket) and involved in NCU's PhD program, I am putting it on hold.
