I needed a textbook for an on-line geology course - the college was asking $120 but after searching on-line I found the book (new) here for $60 (other sites were $90 plus).

A pet peeve is that many sites did not list the edition.

    Ian,
The link you posted is from your session and lists your hotmail addy and greets you (top of page). You may want to give the generic link :)

it is best if you can get the ISBN number - then just google the number. I wind up getting my books from amazon - cheaper than the university. but I have also seen them on ebay and other sites.

Check out abebooks.com They kick arse! If you are willing to buy international edition, you can save a lot of duckets. Just make sure the IE books says "Exact same as the US edition".

www.addall.com is a great search tool, includes several sales sites too.

Thanks - I buy books from all the sources suggested above.

This time I got my book from http://www.tamannaa.com
The book was shipped via UPS from Mumbie (?) in India last Friday and it arrived at my home Monday.

Maybe texts get premium pricing just before school starts.

Incidentally my neighbor writes text books on business and real estate - he updates them every year at the publishers request - lately he has been asked to chop things out to reduce page count.
