Does anyone know if the courses listed for the Area of Study for the AAS-Criminal Justice are required courses or are they listed as examples?

    The courses listed are:
    Introduction to Criminal Justice
    Constitutional Issues
    Juvenile Delinquency
    Criminology
    Cultural Diversity in the US
    White Collar Crime
    Victimology and Criminal Behavior

I know that some of these courses are required for the BA in Criminal Justice but not all of them.

Could someone already registered at TESC ask their advisor?

All of the courses you listed will fit into a TESC BA-Criminal Justice degree plan in one place or another, if that's what you're concerned about.

I think the original question concerned whether the courses listed in the original posting were required courses or merely suggestions. The degree plan for AAS (Criminal Justice) lists those courses in the degree plan, unlike the AAS degree plans of other areas of study which only say 21 credit hours in area of study and do not list any courses by name.

When they list specific courses there is usually no way around them.

That's what I figured, doesen't make much sense to require courses for the AAS that are not required for the BS/BA, wouldn't this have a negative impact as to how you allocate your free electives? It limits your options, a use it or lose it situation.

There typically are much more free electives in a BA program vs. an AAS. IIRC, the TESC CJ program has broad areas which several courses could be used to fufill, so all the courses you listed are probably required by the BA program.
