ELLIS OF THE NEW YORK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY ! MILITARY UPDATE

If you search my "old posts" on Ellis you'll see my hot and cold attitude toward them. That was a few years ago and LOTS has changed since then!

I put off or ruled out going with Ellis all together because of the cost among other things. When it joined forces with NYIT, Ellis College NEEDED to go through some real growing pains and evolve into a place I now attend as a student.

After taking a few classes here and there over the last 18 months, on a hunch I called Ellis to get some info about what was new. Well they have become VERY military friendly, with credits awarded AND Tuition for undergrad programs.

Now TA covers the ENTIRE cost of each course and I DON'T have to give them my CC number to be a student!! It's now $250 a credit $750 per 3SH course. I was very excited and long story short I went the whole way and transferred into Ellis of NYIT!!!

Needless to say I am very happy with the changes I've seen. HEY I BOUGHT A SCHOOL MUG so I have to graduate!!

I start my first course on 8/25/08/, it’s one of those two credit success in DL courses "everyone" has to take when starting with ELLIS (this is becoming more common I think). That course is good for students new to DL, but I already have a degree via DL so I think I know the deal, but I don't care it's and easy two credits right!

    For Military (and others)
FREE CREDIT EVALUATION ($85.00 fee is gone for military)
THEY GET YOUR TRANSCRIPTS FOR YOU (For Free)
    NO ADMISSION FEE
DISCOUNT FOR YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS (wife, husband, child)
UNDERGRAD PROGRAMS only $250SH!! TA has your back on that!!
    CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS IMPROVED
VERY LIBERAL POLICY ON AWARDING CREDIT FOR MILITARY TRAINING
    THE CONFERING SCHOOL IS NYIT!

They also upped the GRAD Programs discount for military to 20%...

I know that I am forgetting something!

What a difference 18 months makes!

:) (INSERT BIG SMILE HERE) :)

That's certainly good news; with many people joining the armed forces for education benefits and plenty of TA money out there, it only makes sense for any school to be military-friendly.

All is "almost ok" with Ellis

Everything has been going great. No hard sale 1000 phone calls to get me signed up like last time BUT!! something disturbing happened today, they, them, someone deleted two of my three Blogs entries. Ellis has a blog set up for each student.

When I signed up I was happy, so I decided to fill out a blog entry or two. I wrote about how great ELLIS was for lowering tuition for service members, blah blah blah. One of the other entries was about how I had a great experience at Coastline Community College and went on to say how wonderful that school was and so on. BAD IDEA I GUESS.

Well they deleted any reference to THE OTHER COLLEGE from my blog!!!

So once again the system needs attention. So I wrote to the President, Provost, and the Cardean Learning Group LLC about this foolish censorship.

Man that makes me mad!! I'll let you all know what they have to say tomorrow. I was so POed that I almost quit this school...

The issue as it were, is being addressed by Cardean Learning Group LLC and the college provost. There was no delay in their response :)
