Determination of Salary for a DL Position

I sincerely appreciate the response to my query regarding a DL PhD in Education. At this time, I am researching the PhD program at the University of Nebraska. Additional suggestions or opinions are appreciated.

Over the weekend I was offered a DL position by a DL/Traditional college. The position title is Online Academic Adviser (subject to change). I would serve as orientation advisor, enrollment advisor, coordinator of the online student center and assignee of student to faculty based on established criteria. In addition, I would write all online materials referencing the above. Separately, I have agreed to teach DL courses.

QUESTION: I have been asked to submit a fair annual salary amount regarding the Online Academic Adviser position. I am requesting resources and/or expert opinion.
(I do not know the number of students I will be working with.)

The National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) has a webpage --http://www.nacada.ksu.edu/ -- that might offer more information. Academic Advisor salaries vary greatly depending on type of institution and the reporting. (In some institution academic advisors are student affairs professionals, in other schools they are academic affairs administrators, and in a few places they are actually faculty positions. I have seen positions for Academic Advisors doing the tasks you described with salaries ranging from 18K to 40K.
