Just a quick question for anyone who might be in one of the WGU IT programs. I read somewhere else (can't remember where offhand) that if your existing A+ or Network+ status is over 5 years old they won't take it and you'll have to retake the exams. Granted, I could probably pass the A+ with no study and spend a night going over the Network+ but I'd much rather move on to something new.
If there is a time limit on the CompTIA A+ certification I would challenge it especially if you are currently employed in the information technology field. Western Governors University offers degrees that are after all competency-based rather than taking specific courses. As far as I know the CompTIA certifications never expire although new versions of the certifications are introduced periodically.
