We currently seem to be having a rash of spammers, who register, post once, and disappear.

I went through and proactively banned a bunch of users that appeared to be spammers who hadn't yet posted. If you find yourself banned and you aren't supposed to be, either email me (chip at degreeinfo) or send a PM to me or to Bruce and we'll take care of it for you.

I'm also looking into more effective ways of combatting this latest rash of spam... hopefully it's a temporary problem.

    Thanks...

I saw a post last night and wanted to report it but didn't know a quick way. I'll know next time.

Some forums have a "report to moderator" button. Perhaps that would be possible?

There is a quick way to report spam to the moderators. Look for a red and white triangle with an exclamation point located in the upper right of the post. Click on it and report the post. I have been doing this quite a bit lately along with many others I'm sure.

I just checked and there are dozens of spam registrations. I'm taking a rather aggressive approach right now (which I won't detail, lest the spammers read this thread and modify their approach) so if anyone is inadvertently unable to access, please email me.

It's been suggested to moderate the first few posts of a new poster and yes, that is an add-on for vbulletin. I will look into the situation and see how easy it is to add that function.

In the meantime, please keep reporting the spam you find and we will work to get it deleted as quickly as possible.

    Thanks!
