Thanks Matt. Do you know anything about tuition? The admission fee is expensive that I ever seen. $200.00..

Fees can be found here towards the bottom of the page. They are not cheap. Heriot-Watt and University of Leicester are less expensive.

The one thing that may potentially justify the fee is that the programs are highly interactive and the classes are small in comparison to other distance learning classes that I have taken....

    Hello Preisma,

I completed their MBA program in 2006 and at that time it cost about $ 25,000/US, not a bad price for a degree that has served me well. I have spent time at the university and found it to be a great campus. The MBA program is actually a great deal of work, don't expect to complete it utilizing only 15 hours per week! I achieved a 3.84 GPA and I accomplished this by working a ton of hours on class assignments and participation, including additional research. My dissertation was 30,000 words long and heavily referenced, great experience there. Great school, if they get around to offering a doctoral studies program (DBA possibly), I might do that one too.

The best part of the program is the networking that occurs, I have friends from all around the world now, and we're always in touch. None of my classmates regret taking their MBA program. I have taken online courses from a dozen universities in North America and Europe and their program presentation is near the top of my satisfaction list and much better than many top tier schools that I have attended. The suggested importance of school "ranking" systems has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of their ability to deliver a first rate online program. With UOL, you get a B&M school dating back to 1882 and in my case, you'll graduate and recieve your parchment with their medical/law students! Good luck!

Interesting that they go out of their way to state the online tuition does not include access to the physical facilities of the campus.

In practice, this probably isn't a big deal as most online students are not near the school. But for some reason, I just find this objectionable in principle as a sort of segregation and second class treatment for DL students.

Yes, but does the University of Liverpool still offer the shiny stickers like those that graced the diplomas of Trinity College of the Bible and Seminary?

I think they(Liverpool) will make changes to their DBA program by adding campus visits in UK like many other UK AACSB schools like Aston, Henley, Manchester, Bradford, Ashford, Durham, Starthclyde, Lancaster and Cranfield.

I have decided not to go for a Phd or DBA as they are waste of time and money (In my case).

Great find! probably the first AACSB accredited doctorate fully online that I know off.
The program looks great for people looking for academic careers that do not want to go on campus for visits.

The UoL is a well regarded institution so it has also the brand name recognition.

I wonder what would be the impact with this type of programs to the for profits without AACSB accreditation. My guess is that more AACSB accredited doctoral programs will be offered online with the time.

I think it is mainly useful if you are planning to either become full time faculty or an adjunct as some schools prefer the doctorate. Some would argue that is also good for consulting but my experience is that certifications are more useful for this purpose.

As more people get these credentials, they might carry less value with the time. I wouldn't bother with less than an AACSB accredited doctorate at this point as the market will get saturated with people with non accredited doctorates.

I never said there was anything wrong with a four year old thread.

DBA or Phd do not add value in my case. You are right non-AACSB doctorate just does not make any sense. Many of these non-AACSB schools are arrogant to charge the same tuition as AACSB schools for both MBA abd DBA. I just see this as Business.

Liverpool is 100% online, however you MUST go to the UK to defend your thesis. This, along with total costs, are the main two reasons why I decided on not to attend.

The US representative I talked to did say that the program was still fairly new and they could relax on residency requirements in the future, but I seriously doubt that would ever happen.
