New Degree Mill Email Campaign?

Sorry if this has been discussed before but it was new email campaign material to me. It's different from the wonderfully humorous Barrington "admiration from all". I consider this stuff better than stand-up comedian material, so here's the body.

My favorite line is, "Our College and University transcripts meet the highest academic standards." I can just picture the transcripts undergoing the most rigorous level of spell checking in MS Word as the author is entering lie after lie.

Almost as good is the opening line, "This University Degree Program removes the obstacles that cause adults to abandon all hope." So I guess that means that we should see a significant reduction in the adult suicide rate now?

One day during a slow period I actually called one of the numbers. A call forwarding service - my call was returned by another call forwarding service. A lady identified herself as running Thornewood University. She said this is a "degree mill" but we are accepted by the nation of location, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and was a member of several distance learning organizations. Their campus consisted of the homes of their students (neat, huh?). They were authorized to grant degrees and would furnish transcripts. You simply told them what degree you wanted, told them the courses you would like listed on the transcript....you could even graduate summa cum laude. The school had an address in the Netherlands that would verify your transcript. All for a mere $2,400 U.S. dollars. When I declined the price dropped to a today only $480. to cover costs. I think we should all buy a degree from them!!!!!! Howard.
