It's an exciting day for me. I turned in all of the papers to be admitted to Wayland Baptist University today. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time.

I am going to complete the quantitative portion with ground classes. I didn't not get an opportunity to take part in the camaraderie of High School, or any school past 5th grade, so the ground classes might be neat. After my first 18 credits I plan to take the rest online.

Classes are 4 hrs, once per week for 11 weeks.

The tuition for ground classes is a mere $660 per class. That is a complete bargain, IMO.

It's been an amazing journey considering that 15 years ago I was a young adult that had only gone for a few weeks of the 8th grade. That and the fact that I was walking out of a jail cell for the millionth time with a pretty big monkey on my back.

Life has been pretty amazing since then with many successes and failures that has brought me to where I am today.

I am utterly amazed and thankful to God!

    Good for you!

I correspond with a fair number of incarcerated people, and it's always nice to be able to share inspirational stories with them. I understand that you're out now . . . but it is so good for people, in or out, to have examplars like you.

There was the one wonderful moment, back when I was involved with the Heriot-Watt University MBA program, when the highest exam score in the United States was achieved by a man who had been in a federal prison in Louisiana for quite a few years. And English was actually his third language: he was a German pilot who flew for a South American airline.

Thank you very much, John. I feel very fortunate to have been as low as you can go and all the way as high as VP of a medical device company or business owner.

I can't take all of the credit though. I try to always remember where I came from.

Although most people would never guess those things about me when they meet me now. I still think of the incarcerated and the lower class as my people in a way.

Congrats - let me know when you are getting ready to take statistics. I have some flow charts (not on this computer) that I received during my MBA Stats course which I use in teaching stats. They will be a big help to you!

Congrats on your MBA, good school and your turnaround in life.

I'm a mere 8 weeks from finishing my own MBA and it's been a long, hard fought, tough journey but I'm glad I did it.
