I have yet to find a DL course on Glaciology - does anyone know of such a course (I have found a summer field trip to Alaska that looks promising but is held sporadically).
Thanks in advance for your input.

Glaciology would most likely be offered as an upper-level course in a geology or earth science department. In general, upper-level science courses aren't commonly offered through DL. Glaciology, in particular, is a fairly specialized topic that isn't offered even at many B&M schools. So the odds of finding a DL course may not be very good.

The short-residency Master of Science in Science Education program at Montana State University www.montana.edu offers a (summer-time) field-trip course on the Geology of Glacier National Monmuent. That's about the closest I could find.
