All I can tell you is that on this forum Harcourt is not very well respected by most. However, my wife is studying accounting with them and she is well pleased. The materials are very similar to community college texts on accounting.

The former International Correspondence Schools has been around for well over a hundred years, and has met many people's needs. Something like 400,000 students. Some people here have been uncomfortable with their 'hard sell' marketing approaches, and their Sally Struthers campaign. For vocational training, they seem to do a satisfactory job for many people. However it always pays to shop around. You might want to consult the "Subjects offered" listing on the site of the Distance Education and Training Council, www.detc.org, which lists four providers of medical transcription courses.

Hi, I am presently taking a PC Repair course through Harcourt. I am a little less than half way through the course and I am very frustrated with it. There are a lot of mistakes in the text books and a lot of misinformation.
