Union Institute and University sells Vermont College Campus, Programs

From the link: Union Institute & University (UI&U) today announced the completion of the sale of the Vermont College campus and three Master of Fine Arts programs to the newly created Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA) located in Montpelier, VT. UI&U will continue to operate its bachelor’s and master’s programs, leasing offices and the classrooms from VCFA, and thus restoring the university’s vision of being a “university without walls.”

Interesting.....does anyone know if the new VCFA is non-profit, and will this have an impact on their accreditation?

 

This brochure indicates that VCFA is an independent nonprofit school, and that it is pursuing regional accreditation with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. This NEASC page indicates that VCFA was "Recommended for Candidacy" in April 2008.
