    Hi all,

I'm about to wrap up my MBA and was really thinking about going on to get a C.A.G.S. in Criminal Justice, then if I have any steam left, a PhD or DBA. A guy at work suggested I get a Master of Science or Master of Arts in Management. I kind of felt that an MAM or MSM would be redundant if someone already had an MBA. Now this is a guy I respect so it has me curious.

Currently my MBA focus is on Organizational Leadership.

Personally, I think it would be overkill and redundant. It depends on what your goals are. If your goal is future adjunct work, you must consider that there is a great number of people out there with the same credentials that cannot get an adjunct job due to oversupply of qualified people. You would be better served with more focused graduate work in CJ as you mentioned or another high-demand field.

Just my .02, but I currently adjunct for four schools and have applied to dozens more. I have never been hired for a position I applied for teaching general management, but my graduate specialties (public admin., emergency management, and homeland security) have been instrumental in getting work.

I believe you will find the MA/MS in Management very much similar with what you are doing with your MBA, particularly that focus on organisational leadership.

You may look for studying other business functions instead, maybe something like CJ, public administration and policy, homeland security, etc...
