Specialization, is it worth it?

I am about to start my MBA program and I plan on continuing on to get my PhD. I am planning my courses for my MBA and was wondering if having a specialization is worth it. I am finding a lot of courses I would like to take and I only have so many credits to burn through the two degrees. Does having a specialization on the degree really have significant value?

    Thanks,

    Michael

Yes, it qualifies you to teach and shows a higher understanding of a topic to an employer.

My specialization is in Organizational Leadership and simply for personal gratification. I don't know that it would impress anyone moreso than the MBA itself but I'll list it on the resume anyhow. However if it were in an area in which you desire to work, like Human Resources it shows an advanced knowledge in those areas that they may actually desire. Like Randell said.
