I'm curious here. I guess the assumption is that online doctoral degrees are not well accepted in landing adjunct teaching jobs at typical b&m schools. It seems that schools tend to hire candidates who completed ph.d's at more well respected prestigious schools. Well what about teaching at the online level. Does one need a doctoral degree from a prestigious school? Or would a ph.d from let's say UoP, NCU or Walden suffice? I'm just trying to determine if there's any trends going on here.

I think the non-traditional doctoral programs are not widely accepted for a tenure track position at a B&M school. I've seen many adjuncts/lecturers at traditional schools with DL degrees.

I think it goes without saying a prestigious degree will always serve you best, but that's not always possible for many people.
