    Hi Bruce

I read the post about the criminal justice degrees. I was wondering if it would be best to get an AA or BA in CJ rather than a Master's if you have not earned one of those degrees. At one time I was considering getting a Master's in CJ as I have a Master's in Ed and BA in Psych. I also have many CEs with the APA in violence and trauma, drug abuse, etc. I have many years of experience working with JD. What would you suggest for someone who has a similar educational background?

    Hi Robbie,

If someone already has a RA undergraduate degree (as you seem to), I can't think of many reasons why they should go back for a second undergrad.

Especially considering your undergrad is in Psychology, which is a great compliment to Criminal Justice, I would definitely go for the Master's degree in CJ if that's your interest. IMO, multiple Master's degrees can be a great plus, while I see multiple undergrad degrees raising more questions than anything else.

Thanks Bruce! Both my BA and MA are from regionally accredited schools. I looked over your website in nationally accredited schools. What do you think about Andrew Jackson University?

When I was taking my MSQA at CSUDH there were a lot of law enforcement officers studying for this masters degree in negotiation, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding.

With the usual caveat of choosing a NA vs. RA school, I haven't heard anything bad about AJU since they received legitimate accreditation.

IIRC, they did have some issues beforehand; I can't recall the particulars, but I believe they claimed unrecognized accreditation (WAUC perhaps) for a period of time.
