I am interested in taking a few graduate level history courses through APU. I was wondering if any of you had syllabi for any of their history courses that I could view to get a gauge as to what would be expected out of each course. With the summer coming up, I'll be free from teaching, so I'd like to take a few courses, but don't want to over load. Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Matt

I would love to see a copy also.

Over time, I've had good results from simply asking the people who are teaching the courses to send me a syllabus. I've found that when you respectfully express interest is a subject that is important to another person they will bend over backwards to help. Perhaps I've just been lucky in that regard. Perhaps you could be too.

Nice suggestion! I had to search for email addresses, but eventually I found them. I still haven't heard back from a few people, but I've gotten several courses. A caveat, however, that each syllabus may differ between professors. At least that's what I was told.

    I have the following:
    HS503 - The Roman Republic & Empire
LW576 - The Wars of Ancient Greece & Macedonia
    OC543 - History of Religions
OC553 - History of American Women
    OC581 - Late Antiquity & Byzantium
    OC610 - The Ancient World

These are uploaded to my website at www.mattbrent.net/apu

As I get more, I'll post them. And if anyone else happens to get any, please share and I'll stick them on my site as well.

    Thanks,
    Matt

    Matt,

I know a lot of people here will appreciate your posting of the syllabi, but please remove the names, phone numbers, and email addresses of the professors listed on them.

    Thanks.

Okay, I can do that later... but I have to ask. Why?

If your name, phone number, and email address was listed on of one these syllabi, would you want that information posted on the web?

The professors list their information for their students, not the general public.
