20 hours of home study and we're qualified to teach meditation to other people? That sets off red flashing lights and warning klaxons in my head. (I probably need to meditate.) It doesn't sound credible.

If Naropa really did recognize it, I'm curious what program recognized it, and what they recognized it as being.

Some of Naropa's programs have an experiential/practice component. They want students to receive instruction and to maintain a personal meditation practice. Typically that instruction is supplied by the Shambala organization that Naropa is associated with. But sustitutions can probably be made. Maybe that's what happened here.
