Hi all. Looking for some input on this.

I completed my MBA through an RA institution 3 years ago (a well regarded program regionally, not well known nationally) and am looking for another program from a more prestigious US B&M program to supplement and give my resume more visibility, weight, etc.

I've looked at a few of the post-mba programs and executive education programs out there (all quite expensive - $30-50k) none of which grant a diploma (maybe a certificate), yet offer the benefit of alumni status (whatever that's worth).

I'm now considering a masters program through Indiana's Kelley School and the Thunderbird Global Management masters degree. I've also thought about a masters in project management. Of course, a DBA from Florida would be great, once they get their program up and running.

Any other good 'supplemental' graduate programs out there from the best of the best? I'm really looking to break through into the upper executive ranks and am looking for the right program to help me get there.

What about graduate cerificates? I completed a 9 credit one from UF and it was great. Also Rutgers has certificate programs and Harvard and Wharton have one week seminars but they are pretty pricey.

Seeing as you're in California, I'd look at programs offered through UC Extension or the Cal State system, and see if you could earn a masters from one of the flagship schools in those systems. Certainly, those would provide the visibility you're looking for, and since you'd benefit from in-state tuition, the price would be right.

    Best of luck!

    Mike,

I will be at a similar stage in a year and have wasted time researching post-MBA courses when I should be studying.

I plan to take a break and do either one of the following:

    1) Take an e-Cornell 'Executive Leadership' course - http://www.ecornell.com/catalog/certificates/lsmc02.jsp

    2) Study a M.Sc in 'Corporate Governance' from Liverpool JMU (UK). I have attached a link for this, not sure how this course would fare in the US. The attraction for me is that with an MBA as a pre-requisite you can jump in halfway through the course. There is some residentials so it probably wouldn't suit you, but I thought I would throw it out there as it suits your profile and there may be something similar in the US?

    All the best,

    Dave C.
