Challenging For Chem Credit With Lab At TESC?

So, I was wondering if anyone has successfully challenged for science credit at TESC?

I am starting to love science again, something I have previously hated. I am in the process of teaching myself general chemistry, and have even found a lab component (set) that would enable me to do experiments from home.

I plan on documenting everything. I also have the option of taking this course and lab at a local college this summer, but I honestly, and truly do learn better when self taught.

In TESC's PLA database, it shows the option to challenge for "General Chem I" and "General Chem II" both with lab components.

Do you think it's possible, or do you think I should suck it up and take the summer class?

If you are studying from a typical undergraduate university-level general chemistry textbook and an accompanying laboratory manual, you should be able to document the learning experience. You could use this as a guide to your studies and possibly combine the traditional 2-course sequence into a single PLA worth 6 credit hours. An essay integrating the theory with a real world problem and analysis might be a useful strategy to show the "learning" gained from the independent study.
