Has anyone tried any of these courses? Quite a few are offered via distance education (traditional correspondence and Internet). They are ACE-reviewed. Thoughts and opinions?

I have not tried any of the courses, but I don't see the advantage to taking them. They are more expensive than well known RA schools like BYU, LSU, about three times the cost of Clovis Community College, and twice the cost of Penn Foster's ACE reviewed courses.

    Hi pugbelly.

The only real advantage I can see is that with some of the math courses (College Algebra, for example), there is no proctored mid-term or final. One could finish in a week or two.

Ahhhhh, no proctored exams at all? If that's the case, the extra tuition could be justified as a convenience charge. :)

Now this looks like a deal for those eligible persons seeking an IA grad degree from Capitol College.

The Graduate School, USDA and Capitol College in Laurel, Maryland, have come together to offer professionals and specialists a Certificate in Security Management. We offer six online courses taught by some of the nation's leading experts in the field of network and information security. Complete any four to receive the certificate. Up to three courses may be applied to the Master of Science in Network Security from Capitol College.

Each course on the page costs $1,195. I believe Capitol College IA grad classes go for approximately $1,600 each. Take three courses through USDA and then enroll at Capitol for the MS. Save $1,200 total.
