The November 2001 issue of Online Learning magazine (p. 14) contains a very positive half-page review of "Bears' Guide to the Best Education Degrees." Kim Kiser, Managing Editor, states that John Bear has "separated respected distance degree programs from diploma mills for more than 25 years." Kiser also praises "Bear's team" for providing the www.degree.net site which provides "updates on degree programs and information about recent diploma-mill sightings."

She begins the article with a very profound question: "With the proliferation of online degree programs, how do you know which ones are real and which ones print fake diplomas for big bucks?"

Thank you, Dr. Bear, for half a lifetime invested in DL, which has charted a course for so many others.

    Russell,

Thanks for the tip. I hadn't heard about this one. It's always nice to be appreciated for one's work (albeit as part of Dr. Bear's crew which is quite good company, by the way).
