    Hi all!

I just completed my last course for Walden University's MSEd in Designing Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment. The only thing I have left to do is complete my portfolio. Has anyone completed a portfolio with Walden before? For my program we have to demonstrate that we have met a variety of educational standards by supplying one of our assignments and providing a rationale for how that assignment meets the standard. For practice, we submit an assignment at the end of each class with its rationale, and the instructor responds to it. Fortunately, mine have all been good, but I am super paranoid that I'll mess something up. Does anyone know what happens if one of the standards is not met? Do they say "ha ha, too bad sucker!" and end it there, or do they let you try again? Hopefully I won't have to try again, but I'd like to know ahead of time.

I am totally looking forward to getting this degree in my hands so I can move on. Although I'm leaning toward an MA in History, APU's new MEd in Administration is very tempting...

    Thanks,
    Matt

Hi I had to do a portfolio for my M.Ed. degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a cont. in Technology degree for Grand Canyon University. We had a program called Taskstream, which may be what Walden uses. For each class we had to submit a specific assignment and tell how they met standards that either we chose via our own state or the state where Grand Canyon University is in, and thats Arizona. PM me and I will send you a link to mine if you want to see it.

No, Walden doesn't use that program. We have to make a portfolio and burn it on CD and then mail it to the instructor of our last class. Our standards are not based on any state. They include standards from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and then some standards that Walden has established based upon a variety of other sources.
