    Hello, all.

I have 18 graduate credits in education taken within the last year; does anyone know of a master's program that will take that many courses in transfer toward the master's? A poster the other day wrote that Excelsior would, but on the EC site, it plainly states that no more than 15 hours can be used to transfer into the MA in liberal studies degree.

What subject(s) are the credits in? I know Aspen University will allow up to 18 credit hours transfered in for their graduate programs but the courses would have to be comparable to an existing program. This issue has come up in the past and I don't recall there being many graduate programs that allow a large number of transfer credits.

I'm not aware of anyone who will take more than 15 credits in any subject other than Business. So you go with Excelsior and you lose one course. It could be worse.

Almost all regionally accredited schools accept even fewer credits than already indicated. DETC-accredited schools seem to be the best bet when attempting to transfer large amounts of credit.

You might want to take a look at Mountain State University. They have a program that takes lots of credit in transfer.

Also, AMU tales 15, I think.

I looked on the Mountain State website, and I could not find any specific, detailed information about graduate transfer credits. Does anyone have a direct link? I could not find much.

You do realize, do you not, that 18 hours is more than half of a master's program?

The University of Southern Queensland is DETC Accredited. USQ may exempt 4 or 6 of the 8 or 12 units required for a masters degree in training and development, education, project management, mba, and other distance education and online programs.
